This little 10 lbs. pup is perfect in just about every way. He is looking for someone who is adventurous, dog savvy, and likes to challenge him.

Red would do best with another active dog friend — someone he can play tag with for hours in the backyard! He does have a high activity level. Don’t let his sweet face fool you. Even though he is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, polite people friendly, and children friendly, he needs someone who is dedicated to challenging his intelligence and his athleticism. He isn’t food motivated, but has learned sit and come through his toys. He loves toys that he can carry around and share with his dog friends.

Red is incredibly athletic and intelligent. He can easily jump 3 to 4 feet from a standing position, and he can run like a gazelle. If he wants to get somewhere or to something, he can overcome any obstacle. If you do not give him something to do, he will find a way to entertain himself, which may or may not be destructive. Currently, he likes to play keep away with his dog friends.

On top of all of this, Red is incredibly affectionate and loves people who are polite. We think he can almost read your mind. He requires very few cues to signal for him to respond to you —
a look and he will come be by your side, a nod and he will sit, a gesture towards the door and he is ready for a walk.

A dog like this doesn’t come around that often. And although he is perfect, you need to be his perfect match. His perfect person would be intelligent, athletic, playful, knowledgeable of canine behavior, affectionate, compassionate, adventurous, a nice lap to sit in, a child friend to love on, and have a small to medium size dog that loves to play.
