From Chester’s foster mom:

Here’s a quick list of what I’ve learned about Chester in the last couple weeks he’s been staying with me. Chester is:
– 100% House trained (no accidents)
– Crate trained (he sometimes barks when first left alone, so someone in an apartment may need to work with him on that)
– Knows sit, shake, and down, is food motivated, smart, and well-behaved
– Rides great in the car
– Enjoys going on short walks (20 min), is perfect on the leash, is not leash reactive
– Is pretty low-key – likes to be in the same room and is happy to sleep most of the day
– Has not been very interested in playing with toys / does not fetch or chase the ball
– I think he would most likely do fine with another low-key animal, but seems to be more people oriented
– At first he was very unsure of my cat and would snap at him if the cat got close (has not ever bitten or caused any sort of harm)
– Now that he knows my cat is nice, he is non-reactive
– Has shown some resource guarding with my cat if he has a treat or a bone
– When my cat wants to cuddle with him, he prefers to get up and move
– Has an adorable Aussie wiggle butt!

Chester’s adoption fee of $350.00 includes his Vet exam, up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm test & current preventative, neuter, fecal test, and microchip.

Please be aware that we rarely have information about cat compatibility as most of our foster homes don’t have cats. Adoption decisions are based on the best overall match and not done on a first-come-first-serve basis.
