Adoption Status:Available
Age:5 years old
Breed:Chihuahua mix
Weight:12 lbs.

Taco and his “brother” a terrier mix named Jack, were surrendered by neighbors who kindly took them in when their owner passed away.  Unfortunately, there was no interest at the kill shelter and they are now fostered together.  However, Taco can be adopted out to a different home from his brother.  He is the more assertive and friendly one.  Loving, playful, moderately energetic, smart, non-aggressive, will be words to describe him.  He learned how to use the doggy door in a day and is housetrained.  He enjoys playing in the backyard when he is not trying to get me to toss him treats or toys.  He loves squeaker toys and will run to get them.  He barks appropriately and no, he does not chew furniture, shoes, baseboards, etc.
A family who loves to walk or enjoy the outdoors, will be a great fit for Taco.  Not sure how he is on a leash yet but he is a fast learner and seems adventurous.  He also enjoys being carried, belly rubs, and naps!!  Thank you for considering Taco.  He was bounced from place to place and needs his forever home and family now.
Note:  Taco is currently “lightly positive” for heartworms.  This means that a 30-day oral medication with regular, monthly heartworm preventatives will be sufficient to eliminate these.
Taco’s adoption fee is $350.00, which includes tax.  This covers vaccinations, fecal test, dewormer, heart worm & flea/tick preventatives, microchip, and a pending neuter on 12/6/22.
