Highway (Adopted)

Adoption Status:Adopted
Information as of 1/23/21
Age:3 years old
Breed:Chiweenie mix
Weight:17 lbs.

Highway is a sweet little chi-weenie who was found on the side of the highway (see what we did there?). He may have been hit by a car because his ankle was fractured. His ankle was fused and he went through several weeks of crate rest and physical therapy. He has graduated from PT and is ready for adoption. He still doesn’t use his leg 100%, but that could be because it hasn’t clicked in his head that he can, it doesn’t slow him down at all though. Highway is fast, especially if food is involved. He likes to eat and will let you know how excited he is about it by whining. We have never actually heard him bark. He is crate and house trained. His main ambition in life is to be a lap dog. He wants to be by you, preferably curled up in your lap. He likes short walks and treats, of course. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and has been very sweet with our neighbor’s 4-year-old daughter. He has not been tested with cats. If you are looking for a 20-lb lap dog who likes to give kisses, Highway might be your guy.

Highway’s adoption fee of $350.00 includes his Vet and Surgeons exams, vaccinations, fecal and heart worm test, wormer, heart worm preventative, x-rays, surgery on his leg, physical therapy, neuter and microchip.

Please be aware that we rarely have information on our dogs being good with cats as most of our foster homes don’t have them.

Adoption decisions are based on the best overall match and not done on a first-come-first-serve basis.
